He's improving all the time. Every day I go to the races he's that bit heavier and I wonder am I doing enough with him. He got beaten in a few maidens last year through immaturity but he's shown such lick in his last few runs that I was anxious to try him over the six (furlongs). He's getting faster, and he's getting bigger and stronger. He's also genuine and sound. I'd imagine that he's going to get a huge jump (in the ratings) and I think he's going to have to try a Listed sprint. He's gone into that class now.

Dylan gave him a beauty and was very positive on him,. The race was what it was; he was second in the Madrid (Handicap) and that's not a better performance than the Madrid but it's a different day and a different crowd. There's a penalty to be taken now but you could argue it's not a better run than the Madrid run - I don't think it is but he won well and seemed to like the faster ground.

It's a good result as he's broken his duck. He wasn't going to win a handicap off 75 as my other horse who was second is a 55 and they are about the same at home,. That's why these claimers are important when you are in handicap wilderness. It was a plus ten bonus and he's a home-bred so it's great to win a maiden. These maiden claimers are a good concept. We get a nice pot and if he's claimed I wish his new owners the best of luck. The second horse ran very well. In a handicap he'd be getting 20lb.
