He's marvellous. He was just getting tired near the line as it's hard work out there. He's just been schooling the last month because we were going to go back over hurdles as he has a rating of 114 over hurdles. This year we'll see if we can win a handicap hurdle with him and win a novice chase. He's a great old servant. He's big enough to jump a fence, in fact he fences his hurdles so I think he might be better at that than he is over hurdles. He's a big horse and he's an inch taller than he was last year. I was thinking he might be anchored but I suppose he's a bigger horse this year. Being drawn one was a huge thing there. With the way he likes to run it was a blessing. It was a good performance. He's no star but when they try it's half the battle and he tries.

I'm sorry for Davy but Roger gave him an absolute cracker of a ride. Davy was a great help and told him what we needed,. I was a bit worried coming here as he's being running over a mile on the Flat and we've made plenty of use of him so I was worried he would be a bit gassy. We put the hood on him and he got a very good ride. Roger is a very good horseman and I was delighted when he came to me in the weigh room. Switching him off was the key. He's very honest and there aren't many that win four in a year. We'll mix it with him but he's just got a bit high on the Flat. Once the winter ground comes he'll be finished and I'll send him back home.

he ran a great race the last day - I know a lot of people were disappointed but he was drawn badly and came terrible wide in the straight. He can't quicken and we are forced to ride him up with the pace. He'll probably step up to a mile and a quarter, and we can ride more of a race over that trip. He's a big horse who is up to carrying weight and I'm hoping the owner will let me run him in a maiden hurdle one of these days! He's good at it (jumping).
