The double was completed when 11-10 favourite Ainsi Va La Vie was equally impressive in winning the Sportsmens Mares Maiden Hurdle.
Townend was happy to track the early pacesetters on the grey, who picked up in taking fashion when asked turning for home and powered clear to win by 13 lengths from Martello Park
Billys Hope gave Jessica Harrington a winner when landing the Go Racing At Thurles Mares Beginners Chase.
Though Mullins' Asthuria built up a big lead on the back straight, the odds-on favourite was reeled in by the 7-1 winner, who responded well to Robbie Power's urgings to win by three lengths.< Burren Life justified odds-on favouritism to land the INH Stallion Owners EBF Rated Novice Hurdle.

1-2 favourite Rio Vivas led entering the straight, but was brushed aise close home as Lisa O'Neill drove the 11-2 winner a length and a half ahead of All For Joy
John Walsh's Broder (15-2) proved way too strong for his rivals in the www.thurlesraces.ie Handicap Hurdle, winning by eight lengths under Sean Flanagan, while the jockey completed a double when guiding Eric Larkin's 20-1 chance Oakfield Rose to another eight-length success in the Killinan Handicap Hurdle.
