Pat Flynn has his mixed team in good form at present and the Carrick On Suir trainer sent out his third winner in the space of just over a week as Whatharm landed a gamble in division two of the BetVictor Guaranteed Run For Your Money Handicap at Gowran Park.
The four-year-old gelding was as big as 16/1 this morning and was sent off a 6/1 chance before making all under Conor Hoban.
He asserted well over a furlong out and kept on well to beat Marylebone by a length and a half, with Lady Savanah a further two and a quarter lengths away in third. Fair Game completed the places in fourth.
Flynn said, “He’s owned by Brendan and Bridy Cooney who have been with me for years, and I won with a half-sister of this horse called Faleena.
“We were afraid to hold him today as he was very keen the last day and got a bit tired. He’d a better draw, although I’d say he would have won from any draw today. We’ll find something similar for him.”
