The Denis Hogan trained and ridden Misdflight justified strong on-course market support when winning the concluding Book Winter Festival Tickets Online At fairyhouse.ie Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse today.
The son of Indian River made an encouraging start to his handicap career when second at Down Royal last Friday and today, backed from 11/4 in to 13/8 favourite, confirmed that promise when winning eased down and cheekily, by three parts of a length from Popboru
Hogan later commented "it was nice to get that after Friday, and he's probably a chaser down the road. He's a lovely big horse. I'd say greenness beat him on Friday but he's there when you need him.
"He got 6lb for Friday so we nearly had to run him, and he'll get a few weeks off now. That's as quick as he'd want.
"This horse was sick last year, and fair play to the lads (Village Bloodstock Partnership) as they were very patient."
