The Dermot Weld trained Northern Rocked recorded his second win in a week when running away with the Summer Barbeque Evenings Handicap at Naas today.

Ridden by Leigh Roche, the son of Refuse To Bend was following up Sunday’s Leopardstown win, running away from his rivals for an easy five lengths winner over Rock And Roll Kid

Afterwards Weld stated “Northern Rocked is owned by Giovanni Olivero, who supplies parts to Fiat in Italy. He’s had a horse with me each year for the last 25 and think I’ve trained a winner each year for him!”

“Seven furlongs is Northern Rocked’s correct trip, he has been very consistent and likes the little ease in the ground.”
