It mightn't have been quite as striking as at Limerick on Saturday night but the Kilcawley Construction Sligo Handicap seemed to be another race that got away on Three Bells as he came up half a length short behind the winner, Vasoni
Pat Smullen just didn't get sufficient luck in running on Three Bells whilst in-form Billy Lee (Cork treble on Sunday) swooped around the outer on Vasoni to make up for her defeat when strongly-backed at Greenmount Park three days back. She just found Legal Lyric superior on that occasion.
Winning trainer Tim Doyle said of his wife, Claire's home-bred: "She ran well at Limerick and she's very consistent and honest.
"That's her ground. Once she gets her toe into it she's happy.
"She's in again at Limerick on Friday night and she'll run if it's on the easy-side." (TW & EM)
