Unconquerable opened his account at the fourth attempt when justifying 2/1 favouritism in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Naas.
The son of Churchill filled the runner-up spot on his previous two starts behind subsequent Royal Ascot winner Point Lonsdale at the Curragh and his latest second behind Hadman at Gowran Park received a timely boost when that rival followed up earlier on this card.
Gavin Ryan ’s mount was never too far from the pace and led inside the final furlong to beat I Am Magic by a length with Anchorage keeping on nicely just a head further back in third.
Winning trainer Donnacha O’Brien said, “He deserved it as he’s bumped into a few nice ones. Judging by that he’s still learning and probably wants a bit further.
“I always thought he was a good horse and still do but probably up in trip. He’s going to be better next year as well.”
