Trix scores for McNamaras
D’s Trix improved one place from his close runner-up effort at Downpatrick on Sunday when easily winning the O’Neill’s Bar Handicap Chase at Tramore this evening, for trainer Andrew McNamara and his jockey son of the same name.
The winner, now successful four times, failed by a neck over hurdles on Sunday but made light of the switch back to fences, staying on strongly in the straight for a comfortable win over Conrich
Afterwards McNamara Snr stated “D’s Trix had a great run in the north the last day, and while he has been disappointing, is finally getting his act together.”
“He is in the form of his life and may go to Killarney next for a handicap hurdle - he looks better than his 85 rating over hurdles. Andrew (jockey) said the ground was very fast today and said he lost his footing twice.”
