- Treacy times it to perfection
Treacy times it to perfection
Bonifacio benefitted from patient riding tactics by Tommy Treacy when returning to form in the 80-102 rated two miles and three furlongs handicap hurdle at Cork. Sorted set a good pace here but was a spent force early in the straight as Tear Drops (9/1) surged to the front and looked sure to score.
However Treacy timed his run to perfection on the 7/1 co favourite challenging at the by-passed final hurdle, due to the earlier fatal fall of Shaciara and quickened up nicely to score by four and a quarter lengths. Back On The Road (11/1) was another six and a half lengths back in third, with The Pott Reidy (8/1) in fourth.
A delighted Treacy said, “I felt they were going plenty quick enough in front and my fella stayed on very well. He handled the ground but would prefer it even softer.”
