Toon Town (11/4) gained a first victory when landing the first division of the Fleadh Cheoil Wexford August 4th - 11th Handicap Hurdle.

Darragh O'Keeffe 's mount was handy throughout and joined Tingarran Express at the last before pulling out a bit more to see off that rival by a length.

Trainer Brendan Walsh said: “He ran here only 11 days ago and we were just a little bit worried about that.

“The ground was a bit better today and it helped him, the ground the last day just caught him out I'd say. It was nice ground today and Darragh gave him a super ride.

“Hopefully we can get another little race like that along the line somewhere in a couple of weeks.

“We'll keep hurdling a while and it's nice for the (Teergay) syndicate who are from Macroom, they have been patient with him.”
