- Toes does another turn for the Faheys
Toes does another turn for the Faheys
Point The Toes is proving to be a really terrific servant to the Fahey family and the course and distance winner made it three wins from four outings when landing the Tramore Supporters Club Handicap Hurdle under Mark Fahey.
She was well-fancied too with early offers of 6/1 disappearing, the daughter of Atraf being returned a 4/1 chance.
The six-year-old is nothing if not game and she came around the outside to deliver her challenge in the dip as the clear front-runner Native Wolf (didn't go unbacked) came back to the field. Sun Fisher took over from two out but he was mowed down in the closing stages by Point The Toes, half a length separating them at the line.
Paul Fahey trains Point The Toes for his mother Maureen, winning rider Mark is a nephew, and he said: "Mark said she handled the ground quite well as we were a bit worried about it beforehand.
"We were going to let her off but she could go for the mares hurdle at Down Royal (the Grade 3 novice hurdle) early next month now. We'd hope that she could scrape into a place there as that would mean a lot to the family." Golan Guy finished seventh here and he was found to be lame afterwards.
