Conditional rider Andrew Thornton recorded his eight winner of season after he came home in front of the Downpatrick Hurdle aboard Pat Martin’s Irish Poli

Thornton produced the son of Poliglote to lead before two out and kept on well for a cosy four length win over Without The Bop

Winning jockey Thornton said afterwards: “He took up the lead just at the right time and he carried me home well.”
