The Michael McCullagh trained Tagg’s Island (7/1) made all to win the Coral.ie Hurdle at Gowan today, gaining a first win today on his 22nd start.
Tagg’s Island had previously failed to win in 18 flat and three hurdle starts but under Danny Mullins, the son of Excellent Art made all today, staying on gamely on the run-in to see off the challenge of Buyer Beware
Afterwards McCullagh stated “Galway is the next step - we might be aiming big but he did that well and hopefully the handicapper is not too hard on him.
“He's only a small horse and wants that ground or even quicker."
