Taaffe's charge comes good
The opening race this afternoon The Southampton Goodwill Chase was won by the Tom Taaffe trained Emotional Article with Adrian Joyce doing the steering for owners T Walsh and S Kenny.
Joyce who made all was joined after 2 out but stayed on well to win by a convincing 3 ? lengths to hold off Conna Castle ridden by Paul Carberry.
Elaine Taaffe wife of trainer said, "He jumped extremely well throughout we're delighted that the horse won as he has being very close on last occasion and deserved to win. We might go to Navan in two weeks time with him."
