A remarkable twelfth winner for his dam Swiss Lake, the Kingman colt Swiss Ace was very professional when making a winning debut in the 2-y-o Colts’ And Geldings’ Maiden under Wayne Lordan for Aidan O’Brien.
Despite a market drift from 8/11 overnight to an SP of 2/1, the Ballydoyle juvenile was always travelling like a winner and readily defeated 6/5 favourite Tar Heel (ran green on his second start and met trouble in running) by two and a half lengths. The jockeys elected to come centre to stands’ side on the yielding ground, and Haigney (50/1) (difficult to load) did well in the circumstances to finish third having raced on the far side.
The winner was bought by MV Magnier for £400,000 at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales.
"He is a nice colt, said winning jockey Wayne Lordan.
“He was professional and showed plenty of pace. He skipped on that beautiful ground so he is a colt to look forward to.
"He is open to plenty of improvement and he'd get further as well."
