Sunset an eyecatching Beauty
Lightly-raced 13/2 joint-favourite Sunset Beauty made an impressive entrance into the handicap ranks with a five-and-a-half lengths success for Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning at Gowran Park.
After three runs in maiden company the four-year-old filly sprinted away from her rivals at the furlong pole to quickly end the seven furlong race as a contest.
Pat Martin’s Footprint (11/1) stayed on well to edge out Beauthea (9/1) by a neck for second place.
The money in the race came for Knights Templar 11/1 to 8/1, but he finished seventh while 13/2 joint-favourite Philosophers Guest finished second last of the 15 runners.
Winning trainer Bolger said: “My brother Patrick owns her.
“We’ll bring her to Leopardstown on Thursday. We’ll keep her as a broodmare now.”
