Mumayaz gained a second Nursery success in as many months today at Dundalk, as the Kevin Prendergast trained, Shadwell Estate-owned gelding landed the Floodlit Fridays At Dundalk Nursery Handicap under jockey Scott McCullagh.
The son of Tamayaz was a winner at Down Royal last month and while beaten a nose at the Curragh on his latest start, today scored under 5lbs claimer McCullagh who steered him to a comfortable two and a quarter lengths win from Ile De Circe
McCullagh later said “I’m delighted to get a winner for Mr Prendergast. I go in every Saturday morning to ride a bit of work for him and he’s good to me.
“He’s a hardy genuine type and I think he’s going to the sales. He’s going to make into a fun three-year-old. Seven (furlongs) is ideal for him, he’s a horse that races behind the bridle and he quickens up and goes through the gears nicely.”
