Rock all the way in Limerick opener
The opening race on this afternoon’s Limerick card, the www.limerickraces.ie maiden hurdle, went the way of the Patrick Neville trained, Tom Doyle ridden Rockshandy
The Anshan gelding made all and fought of the challenge of Outrageous Request to score by four lenghts at the finish at odds of 3/1.
Winning trainer Patrick Neville stated afterwards “He is a nice horse and is improving. He jumps great and will make a nice chaser. He is still a bit green, that was only his fourth run over hurdles, he is still a baby.
“We were confident coming here today and we have no immediate plans for him now." Undertheboardwalk for Tony Martin & Robbie Moran was strongly backed before the off (10/1 into 5/2fav) but he never got a blow in and finished a disappointing seventh.
Meanwhile Alan Crowe, who took a fall from Scavenger Lad at the third last, was stood down for the day.
