Ready To Rocknroll Just About
Ready To Rocknroll caught many an eye when fifth on his hurdling bow in the Durkan New Homes Juvenile Hurdle on St Stephen's Day and he vindicated the promise of that Leopardstown effort when scoring on outing number two over flights in the opener.
In the same ownership as Pierse Hurdle hero, Penny's Bill, Ready To Rocknroll led at the fourth under Paddy Flood. He was all out at the finish to hold off Moonlight Sapphire and Art Sleuth by a short head and a neck. Aitchiface was still there with every chance when falling two out.
Successful trainer, Jim Gorman said: "He made hard work of it. He'll get an entry for the Triumph Hurdle but I have to say he didn't impress me as a Triumph horse today. He came on quite a bit from his run at Leopardstown but Paddy said he didn't like being in front and he'd like a bit better ground.
"His jumping is not up to grade one or grade two standard at the moment. It is possible he could run at Leopardstown next month as he needs more experience."
