Little Queenie backed from 10/1 into 13/2 before the off, recorded her third win of the year in the Gateway Hotel Dundalk Race & Stay Handicap.
Robert Whearty has been on board the grey for all of those wins and took her to the front after a furlong.
Unpestered from that point, the 5lb claimer was able to keep plenty for the closing stages on the Michael Connolly-owned winner who kept on well to account for Apache Outlaw by a length and a half.
“She's a legend. I had her entered a good few times in the last few weeks but jus tpulled her out because of the ground,” said winning trainer Paul Flynn.
“We said one way or the other she was going home after this. She'll go home to Christmas anyway and might comeback here before it finishes.
“She'll keep going next year and if we got a bit of black-type next year the owner would be delighted.
“She surprised me today, she's just tough.”
