Oxx and McDonogh complete Sligo double

Trainer John Oxx and stable jockey Declan McDonogh completed a double at Sligo today, completing the feat in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden, with 5/2 second favourite Xebec

The winning son of Mizzen Mast made all and in the end battled gamely to see off the challenge of 33/1 newcomer Jer's Girl

Afterwards Declan McDonogh reported "the shorter trip in Cork didn't really suit, and I think he'll get a mile and a half. Hopefully he'll improve and he should be able to win a handicap."
