Poormans Hill successfully reverted to the minor obstacles to exploit a favourable mark over flights in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse.
There were few causes for concern for backers of the prolific handicap chase victor here, and he eventually beat Allez Kal by six and a half lengths.
Chris Meehan did the steering on the 11/8 favourite, and the chestnut is now five from eight since joining the Gordon Elliott yard.
"It was a low grade race and he was probably entitled to win it off his chase mark," said Elliott.
"He's been a great servant and he's done his job today so we're delighted.
"We'll mix and match it with him and have a bit of fun. He's only seven and he doesn't owe us anything at this stage.
"He'll get an entry in the Irish National. I'd say he might have been a bit flat last time as I ran him back only a week after the Troytown.
"He was tired after it for a while so we freshened him up and came back here."
