Nothing wrong with Gorden
Adrian Maguire who trains in County Cork made the long journey worthwhile after he landed the Ardglass Beginners Chase with 7/4 favourite Whats Up Gorden under Shane Hassett.
Hassett took up the lead at the second last after the leader Polar Speed attempted to run out and the pair kept on gamely for a fourteen length win over Club Oscar
A delighted Maguire said afterwards: “That was the wrong trip for him, he wants three miles or three miles plus but we thought it was a good opportunity for him to get a win under his belt and he loves this ground.”
“Now that we have the foundations, hopefully we can build from it. He’s had a bit of trouble in the past.”
“I would like to thank the owner Mona Masterson who is from Fermanagh for being so patient and she deserved nothing less today. I’m absolutely delighted for her.”
Robbie Colgan, Emmett Mullins and Andrew Thornton who all got heavy falls in this race are believed to be all ok and walked back to the weigh room.
