The winners keep flowing for Johnny Murtagh and Measure Of Magic (4/1), by freshman sire Kodi Bear, was his fifth winner from his last nine runners when landing the 5f 2-y-o Fillies’ Maiden.
Fifth on debut behind Saturday’s Queen Mary favourite More Beautiful at Naas last week, the winner broke smartly, was never far off the pace and found enough in the final furlong to see off the challenge of Mooniesta (9/2) by a short head, with Aloha Star (11/2) three lengths further back in third and the strong travelling 9/4 favourite Inner Beauty (prominent till a furlong out) in fourth.
The winner cost 9,500 at the Goffs Autumn Yearling Sales last October.
Winning rider Shane Kelly described the yielding ground on the sprint track as “lovely, with no excuses for any horse on that ground”.
