Mullins family in form at Galway
Trainer Tom Mullins was in the winners enclosure after winning The Guinness Auction Maiden with Cristal Island owned by his wife Helen and ridden by his nephew Danny Mullins.
Danny Mullins kicked clear approaching the straight and managed to hold off the fast finishing Dactik of Kevin Prendergasts ridden by Chris Hayes by a short head.
Tom Mullins trainer commented afterwards, 'It was a brave performance by the horse. She was in front for long time a lesser mare would have been beaten. She will have a small break now she had a hard race and we may go to The Sportsman Challenge at The Curragh next with her.'
