Ming made a successful debut for Joseph O'Brien when running out a cosy winner of the ten furlong maiden at Dundalk.

The Pour Moi gelding was easy to back on his first outing, going to post a 14/1 shot having traded at 6/1 in the morning.

Donnacha O'Brien tracked the front-running Sandaryann who opened up a healthy lead after a couple of furlongs.

The 6/4 favourite came back to the field before the straight and Ming went on at the two pole.

The winner wandered a bit under pressure inside the final furlong but had plenty up his sleeve as he recorded a three-and-a-quarter length victory over Written Word

Donnacha O’Brien said:- “He’s not a horse I know a whole lot about and it’s the first time I’ve sat on him.

“Joseph thought he’d run well but he’s obviously been hiding plenty at home and picked up at the track. He won very nicely and he’ll stay a mile and a half as he’s relaxed.

“I had to do a lot of the donkey work as the leader went off quick and I had to get to him. I’d rather have had a little more cover, so it was a good performance.”

Sandaryann faded late on to finish well beaten in fifth.
