Emmet McNamara shone on Palazzone in the Park Hotel Dundalk Race & Stay Package Handicap.

Held up early, the gelding weaved his way through to challenge inside the final furlong and got up in the closing stages to score by three-parts-of-a-length from Miss Minnies

"Hopefully that's a tonic for the boss who is at home with the flu," said Shane Lyons, brother of winning trainer Ger.

"I'm very happy with that. We thought he had a bit to do with 10 stone on his back but he loves to be ridden that way and Emmet gave him a lovely ride.

"Uhfortunately the owner, who lives in Paris, was home last week. There's a three-year-old only race here for him next week and hopefully he gets into that."
