Trainer Tony Martin completed a double at Gowran today as his Kinnitty Castle arrived late to win the concluding Jackie Tyrrell & Glanbia (Pro/Am) Bumper, under Steven Clements.
The son of Beneficial stayed on well in the closing stages to edge past Casual Approach close home, for a half length success.
Well backed 5/4 favourite Patanne returning from a 730 day absence, finished well held in fourth.
Martin, who earlier saw his Blair Perrone score emphatically, later stated "he (Kinnitty Castle) is a lovely horse to go novice hurdling with next season.
"The lads (owners Aidan Shiels and Niall Reilly) have come over for the weekend (from New York) and it's great for them to have this horse after losing Benefficient."
