Magical Cat outfoxes punters
Magical Cat showed the benefit of her debut run when taking the closing maiden at Gowran Park for Joseph Murphy and Wayne Lordan at 14/1.
The daughter of Giant’s Causeway had attracted market support (25/1 to 14/1) on her run at Limerick behind Kalabaya three weeks ago where she finished eighth.
“I was a bit disappointed with her on her first start but she is improving all the time,” Murphy said.
“Wayne says she will stay a bit further. She’s a progressive filly.”
Magical Cat scored by one length from fellow 14/1 chance Wicked Spirit with three parts of a length back to Haleniya at 4/1. Sloane Street the 5/4 favourite for the powerful Michael Tabor/Aidan O’Brien axis was headed over two furlongs out and finished back in sixth.
