Luckyinmilan finally took advantage of his low handicap mark over fences, as he just got the better of Mindsmadeup in the Carrick-On-Suir Handicap Chase.
The Oliver McKiernan trained nine-year-old is rated 120 over hurdles, compared to a mark of just 90 over the larger obstacles.
Sent off the 11/10 favourite this afternoon, the Barry Browne ridden gelding led and disputed with Mindsmadeup.
He was ridden before the second last and soon gained a narrow lead, keeping on well under pressure on the run-in to see off the aforementioned Mindsmadeup by half a length.
The runner-up was returned a 4/1 chance under Liam Gilligan for James Sheehan.
McKiernan said afterwards: "He jumped well throughout. We thought 2m 7f here might be a horrid slog (the last race on the card) and two miles on this ground would be like 2m 2f. Barry claimed five pound - he knows him well and gave him a great ride.
"He's a real soft ground horse so time is probably running out on him. We'll see what happens and there could be another run in him yet."
