- Local Joy as Ballyholland Lands Plate Trial
Local Joy as Ballyholland Lands Plate Trial
Colin McBratney has been getting a good tune out of Magnum Force lately, winning two races with that ex-Willie Mullins horse, and he landed the Tile Market I.T.B.A. (Northern Region) Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase with Ballyholland under Mark Bolger.
The son of Tiraaz hit the front after three out and he saw off the strong challenge of Dream Champion on the run-in by three parts of a length. The Crossgar Co. Down-trained winner returned to a big local cheer.
McBratney said: "He didn't get home at Perth the last day (3 miles). The Galway Plate has always been on the agenda and that's his target."
Bolger was earlier fined E200 after missing his engagement with Tulachsarain in the 2.45. He failed to make it for that mount having encountered traffic congestion.
