Last claims another victim as Quarryvale scores
The last fence proved the decider once again as Quarryvale claimed the novice handicap chase at Clonmel.
The front-runner had looked booked for second as Hidden Crack just headed her going to the final fence, only to crash out.
The Jimmy Mangan-trained mare made the most of her good furtune, staying on for a 13-length victory under the trainer's son Pat.
She was chased home by Curragh Grey who had pursued her througout but had cried enough after the second last.
"We had a bit of luck on our side. You can't beat it - without luck you have nothing!" said Mangan afterwards.
"She's really a three-miler and loves heavy ground."
