Six Silver Lane bounced back to form on his return to Dundalk as he recorded a fifth course and distance success in the second division of the Ecological Waste Management Ltd Handicap.
John Feane 's charge chased the well backed Reddot Express (11/2 into 4/1 favourite on course) in the mile contest and the pair battled it out in the straight.
Pat Smullen got Six Silver Lane to the front inside the final furlong and he stuck on well to record a half length success. Specific Gravity ran on late to grab the runner-up spot.
It was a tenth career success for the Aussie Rules gelding, who returned a 12/1 shot.
“I’m surprised he won as he’s not been running great. It’s good to know he still has it in him,” said Feane.
