Adrian Joyce rode his first winner since returning from injury when Knocklayde Euro came home best to prevail in a tight finish to the Family Fun At Easter Novice Handicap Hurdle.
Successful trainer, Tom Taaffe said: "He is from a good family and he is a staying chaser in the making. He relishes that heavy ground and he stays forever. This year is all about trying to rob a race or two before going chasing."
Joyce meanwhile explained his misfortune: "I came back riding on the 1st of February. I broke my wrist and arm in three places on September 19th and prior to that I broke the same arm in April off In The High Grass at Aintree and in July in 2007."
Of course Joyce came to prominence when winning on Cane Brake for the same yard in the Paddy Power Chase in 2006. (EM)
