Johnny Feane strikes as a man going places and the rookie trainer registered his eighth winner of his debut year when his Johnny Lawman won the Fillies Friday Night Out 8th August Maiden at Tipperary today.
Ridden by Fran Berry, the son of Lawman battled well to see off the challenge of Forebear by half a length with the same distance back to third placed Acting Talent
Afterwards Feane, son of Moyglare Stud assistant manager Jimmy Feane, stated “he won well and will stay six furlongs. The ground was a small but quick but he appreciates good; the ground is very quick on the near side as opposed to the far side.”
“My other horse, Strategic Heights ran a blinder at Dundalk and we'll take the winner here. I've 14 horses in training and that's my eighth winner of the year, so all good!”
