Faithful Prince was the all-out nose winner of the Killarney Towers Hotel Handicap at the Co Kerry venue today, scoring for trainer Peter Fahey and regular rider Rory Cleary.

Cleary partnered the son of Bungle Inthejungle on five of his six previously unsuccessful starts and today the pair held faster-finishing Tall Story by the minimum margin.

Fahey wasn't present and Cleary later stated “they went a nice good gallop early on and it took a while for the penny to drop with him but he got to the front well and idled a bit when he got there. He held on nicely for me.

“His runs this year have been respectable and hopefully they can get another win with him.”

Classic winner Cleary, who rode in four hurdle races last winter, added “he might be a lad to jump a hurdle in time.”
