The Gordon Elliott-trained Burn The Evidence cruised to victory in the second division of the mares maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse.
Free-runner Gjoumi went clear early on in the two-miler but folded tamely when tackled by the even-money favourite three from home.
Davy Russell let his mount ease clear going to the second last and she sauntered to success thereafter, producing a fine leap at the last before posting a 21 length win.
The winner was following up on a bumper success at Ayr last month. It was a double on the card for Elliott and Russell following the earlier win of Gevrey
Bloodstock agent Aidan ‘Mouse’ O’Ryan said afterwards:- “I own her along with Faye Morris. She picked up a Fillies Bonus for winning a bumper at Ayr last month and another five grand bonus today.
“We’ll try and pick up another Bonus race with her and the plan is to go for a Mares’ Stakes race at Nashville in May.
Davy Russell added:- “She’s just coming to herself now and is strengthening up. We went quick and I didn’t want to give the leader too much rope.
“She jumped well and I’d imagine she could go further.”
