Elm Grove and Billy Lee 1st, the rest nowhere in Gowran's 3rd

Nothing could live with Elm Grove on her first start since last October as she careered away with the Racings Best Offer 19 Silver Package Handicap at Gowran under Billy Lee.
Winning trainer Willie McCreery summed it up as follows afterwards: "It's grand to get a winner. She was working well and loves that ground.
"She had the draw (stall two) and everything so Billy kept it simple."
Always to the fore the victorious Arcano filly took over approaching the straight and in the end the John Malone owned and bred four-year-old had no less than fourteen lengths in hand over Whippers Dream
T.P. Madden, rider of Cosmic Symbol trained by Seamus Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran out of racing room in the back straight .
