Electric performance from Mullins gelding
Time Electric showed just why he has always been held in high regard by connections when putting up a smart front-running display to land the Ballygarry House Hotel Novice Hurdle.
Emmet Mullins followed the instructions of his uncle Tom to the letter, setting a strong pace in the two and a half mile event on the heavily-supported (5/1 to 7/2) Presenting gelding. Berties Dream (Paddy Brennan) took on the winner as the pair went clear on the final circuit but Time Electric was always travelling the better and came home a length and three quarters ahead.
The pair pulled 13 lengths away from Just Moscow in third. The 5/2 favourite Dual Gales weakened from four out and eventually finished tenth.
“It's been up and down with him but he proved what he's capable of today. You would have to say they are two very good horses. The trip was right and he is best on decent ground. He could run in another novice but the plan is to go chasing soon,” said a delighted Tom Mullins.
