Paul Carberry's first ride back from injury, Time To Work didn't jump well and produced a fairly laboured effort up the straight in the opening Kilberry Maiden Hurdle at Navan leaving the way open for the Tom Doyle-ridden Dysios to score for Denis Cullen.

Time To Work (odds-on at 8/15) finished second, three lengths adrift of Dysios. The winner was having his second start over timber having begun at the jumping game a fortnight back on Red Mills Day at Gowran. On that occasion the ex-Luca Cumani flat winner, finished eighth behind the shock J P McManus-owned winner Ballynacree.

Dysios was bought for owner Kieron Gammell, a Naas-based auctioneer at the Tattersalls Horses-in-Training Sale in October last year for 27,000 guineas.

Tom Doyle said after today's victory: "He was very keen in Gowran the last day and while he was a bit keen again today he was a lot better. He did run well in Gowran and he was still right there turning-in. He ran a lot better than his finishing position would suggest."

Denis Cullen later said: "That's a first winner for the yard since Michael (O'Brien, father-in-law & former trainer) passed away and it means a lot. We'll probably aim this horse at Punchestown and he'll mix it between this game and the flat." (AM & EM)
