Drombeg Dream gained a deserved success when running out a convincing winner of the mile nursery at Cork this afternoon.
Austin Leahy 's charge had bumped into a useful sort in Warm The Voice on her last outing at Listowel, when runner-up.
Shane Foley 's mount ran freely in the early stages today and was restrained behind the leaders.
The 3/1 shot was produced to lead two furlongs from home but was soon tackled by Sebastiano Ricci
Drombeg Dream kept on strongly to assert in the closing stages, despite swishing her tail, to record a three-and-a-half length victory.
"She looks like she would stay further than a mile and is a tough filly as she has run seven or eight times and didn't get it easy any day,” said Leahy.
"I felt the handicapper gave me a chance by giving her 1lb for her Listowel run and Shane loved her before he had every ridden her as he finished ahead of her in a race won by Sioux Nation here earlier in the season and asked me then that if ever it came up, that he'd like to ride her.
"The owners (farrier Cian McAuliffe and his father and bookmaker Paddy McAuliffe, from Athlacca, Co Limerick) asked me could I find something in France for her and I think there's a Listed race (Listed Prix Herod Stakes at Chantilly, over seven furlongs) next month which could be an option."
