Unfortunately Conor Brassil suffered a suspected broken leg in his fall from Demi Plie in the Your Clubs Fundraiser At Fairyhouse, Enquire Today Handicap Hurdle. The honours in this concluding two miler went to Roja Dove (Roger Loughran up).
Demi Plie fell at the last with a circuit and that flight had to be bypassed next time around.
At the business end Roja Dove, on her first start for Peter Fahey, held the staying on joint favourite, Emily Square (reluctant to line up) by a length and a half.
Gambled-on Glenabo Bridge (20s into 8s) got the place money with his first place finish.
"I'm pleasantly surprised. She works very well at home. Looking at her races in England she always raced behind the bridle and never travelled but at home she works like she has loads to pace," disclosed Fahey.
"I didn't know what trip she wanted and today was kind of a finding out day more than anything.
"She won well thank god and she's a grand filly. I'm delighted for the syndicate.
"They paid a good few quid for a horse before with me and it didn't make it to the track, then we got them another horse and they had no luck with it.
"It's great that they've leased out this filly and hopefully they'll have good fun with her over the winter.
"She'll go back to Noel Doyle for breeding. She has black-type already and he bought her out of England."
Owing to the low lying sun, the Stewards granted permission for hurdle number 5 to be omitted from this race.
