Seventeen year old Sean Davis partnered his first winner at Leopardstown this evening when steering Maknificient to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Handicap for his employer trainer Michael O’Callaghan.
Davis, from Maynooth, held the filly up before produced her to lead a furlong out and in the three and a half lengths win over Brosnan
Afterwards O’Callaghan stated “that is Sean's first winner, and he's been with us since he left RACE - he's worked hard and should get going now. He's light, stylish and a talented young lad.
"The ground can't be that firm as she wouldn't want it like flint, and the first time visor helped. Hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on her."
