Champion Flat Jockey Colin Keane has started his final week with that title well and completed a double at Galway today when steering Maze Runner to win the John Mulholland Bookmakers Handicap for Champion Jumps Trainer Willie Mullins.
Keane was successful in the earlier seven furlongs maiden with his father Gerry's Laughifuwant and doubled his score as Maze Runner battled gamely in the straight for a three parts of a length win over Lady Camelot
Maze Runner was Keane's 76th winner this season, 35 behind Champion-elect Donnacha O'Brien, on 111, meaning Sunday's fixture at Naas will see O'Brien crowed this season's Champion for the first time.
Maze Runner gave Mullins an across-the-card double as Mister Blue Sky earlier won the opener at Wexford.
