It has been a year and a day between wins for Here For The Craic but the Ken Budds trained gelding gained his fourth career win in the New Kilberry Restaurant Handicap at Navan today.
Ridden by Colin Keane, the bumper and hurdle winning son of Millenary today battled gamely for a half length win over To Choose bridging a 367 day absence since his previous win, in a flat maiden at Gowran on September 2 2015.
Following today’s win, trainer Budds stated “I was a bit worried coming here as he worked very badly four days ago - it was probably his worst piece of work ever.
“I was humming and hawing about coming but his bloods were right so I thought we might as well come.
“We dropped him out today as he wasn't getting home but he seemed to like it and he got a great ride.
“He's in the Northfields at the Curragh next weekend and if he gets in he'll go.”
