Coastal Waters battles well for Foley
Coastal Waters from the Michael Halford stable showed great battling qualities to take the Abbey Electrical Handicap under Shane ‘Dusty’ Foley.
Foley who made most aboard the Halling filly was narrowly headed by Blaze Brightly inside the final furlong.
The 9/2 shot battled well for Foley to get back up and lead close home and deny Blaze Brightly by a head.
Winning trainer Halford said afterwards: “She fought back very well. If she’d give herself a chance she’d get further, she just needs to chill.”
“We’ll go for another handicap and see how we get on. The small field and the lightweight were ideal here tonight.”
