Casey/Hassett in Limerick dead-heat
The Christmas Festival December 26th-29th Maiden Hurdle at Limerick today saw a dead-heat between the fortunate Call The Police and the enigmatic Ambrosia's Promise who shared the spoils, despite doing her best to throw away a winning chance at the final two flights.
Ambrosia's Promise, under Shane Hassett had made the running and held a clear lead before veering badly left at the final two flights, handing the lead to Call The Police early on the run-in. However, to Ambrosia's Promise credit she did finish well to join Call The Police, and David Casey, at the line.
The result took some time to call and while Call The Police's trainer John McConnell was not immediately available for comment, Ambrosia's Promise's trainer Adrian Maguire did describe his charge as “quirky!”
Maguire added “she is a half-sister to Another Promise and although she's not straightforward, she has bags of ability. We'll settle for the dead-heat any day!”
