Paul Carberry's brilliant start to the season continued at Limerick this afternoon as the two times Champion Jockey completed a treble aboard the Tony Martin trained Victrix Gale in the Cul Camps Limerick Handicap Chase over 3m.
Having took the opener aboard Court Lexi (Evens) and the fourth aboard Zaralabad (4/1), Carberry guided the 6yo daughter of Presenting to an easy success to complete a 129/1 treble.
Sent off at 12/1 the winner was settled towards the rear and under a typically confident Carberry ride came with her challenge at the last and eased passed the leader Rudi Trucker (7/1) on the run-in to score by five and a half-lengths.
Rudi Trucker plugged on to take second for Jimmy and Paddy Mangan while Wise Oscar finished a further four lengths back in third at 14/1 for Barry Cash and Karl Wyse. Hidden Present completed the placings a further eight lengths back in fourth under Andrew Lynch for Bernard Jones.
The winner is a half-sister to seven time winner Takagi, who won the 2002 Troytown Chase as well as two Grade 3 contests over fences for trainer Edward O’Grady.
Carberry now moves to the top of the 2012/13 Jockey Championship Standings on ten winners from Ruby Walsh in second on nine.
