Bushmans Pass stayed on best to bag a follow-up win at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
Oliver McKiernan 's charge had run out a convincing winner at Limerick over Christmas and went to post an easy-to-back 5/1 shot (from 11/4) under a 10lb higher mark.
Front-runner Dancing Jeremy looked to have his rivals at work turning for home, in the two-mile-five contest, but got under the second last and was headed before the final fence.
Bushmans Pass and Evies Vladimir came to fight things out and it was the former who found most on the run-in and he stayed on well to record a three-and-three-parts-of-a-length win under Phillip Enright.
McKiernan said:- “It’s sticky and holding ground but he travelled well enough.
“He wasn’t foot perfect at a few fences over the far side but he lost no momentum and when he came around the bend he travelled well around to the last two which he jumped well.
“I’d say the other horse coming alongside helped him to wake up as he’s a bit lazy. He definitely will stay further and handles that ground.
“We’ll look for something similar again.”
